Awaiting carrier approval. This program is filed with the mobile carriers and waits for their approval. Texts start once they approve it. The box and the texts below are shown word for word as subscribers see and get them.

This program is Tailgate Office’s texts to its own subscribers, the contractors who use Tailgate Office, about their own accounts: a code that confirms the mobile number a subscriber gave us, alerts about their own new leads, and previews of texts their account composed. We send them only to the one mobile number each subscriber gave us with a ticked box, on our sign-up form (https://www.tailgateoffice.com/get-started/) or their Account page, and confirmed with that code.

Who sends these texts

Tailgate Office, LLC sends every text in this program and is responsible for it. Each starts “Tailgate Office:”, “Tailgate Office alert:” or “Tailgate Office preview”, and so do the replies to HELP and STOP.

Texts a contractor sends to its own customers are not part of this program: they need that contractor’s own registration with the mobile carriers, under its own business name. This program never texts anyone’s customers; a preview goes to the contractor alone.

How you ask for these texts

A subscriber asks for these texts for their own mobile number in one of two places, and only these: our public sign-up form and their Account page. We never add, type in or import a number.

The opt-in path for subscribers, step by step

  1. A contractor opens our free-trial sign-up form, https://www.tailgateoffice.com/get-started/, a public page that needs no account or login, and types their name, their email and, only if they want our texts, their own mobile number under “Mobile number for text alerts (optional)”. A contractor who already has an account can do the same at any time on their Account page (https://www.tailgateoffice.com/members/account/, after signing in at https://www.tailgateoffice.com/login/), card “Lead alerts”, under “Also text me at”.

A screenshot of the public sign-up form, https://www.tailgateoffice.com/get-started/, as anyone sees it before typing (the grey number in the mobile field is its example).
  2. Below the number, on both pages, is an unticked box with these words, never required to start the trial or to save the card, and under it the no-sharing sentences and links to the SMS Terms (https://www.tailgateoffice.com/sms/terms/) and the SMS Privacy Policy (https://www.tailgateoffice.com/sms/privacy/):

A copy of the box on the sign-up form and the Account page. This copy cannot be ticked; the real one is on https://www.tailgateoffice.com/get-started/.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. SMS Terms | SMS Privacy Policy

A picture of the Lead alerts card on the Account page, drawn from its own markup in the portal’s header and styles, as a signed-in contractor sees it before typing a number; the card’s three email settings, above “Also text me at”, are left out (the grey number in the field is its example).
  3. They tick the box and press “Start My Free Trial” (on the Account page, “Save alert settings”). A number is never saved without the tick. We record the number, the box’s exact words and their version, the page, the time, the login and the device’s internet address.
  4. We text that number a six-digit code: “Tailgate Office: your code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to stop texts from us.” On the Account page it goes as soon as the card is saved; for a number given on the sign-up form, once the contractor has signed in and pressed “Text me a code” on the Lead alerts card. They type the code on that card and press Confirm. Nothing else is ever sent to a number before it is confirmed. When the code is right, we text: “Tailgate Office: you will get account and preview texts at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end, HELP for help.”
  5. Once it is confirmed, that number gets alerts about the contractor’s own new leads, for example “Tailgate Office alert: New quote request: Pat Smith, 21044. Call [customer's number]. https://www.tailgateoffice.com/members/inbox/?thread=1042” (the square brackets stand for the real number in the real text), and previews of a text their account composed for one of their customers, sent to the contractor alone, for example “Tailgate Office preview, sent only to you, of the text CallMitt would send a caller: "Thanks for calling Joe's Roofing! We're closed right now, but we got your missed call. Reply to this text and we'll get back to you first thing. Reply STOP to opt out." Reply STOP to end previews.” They can untick the box or clear the number on the same card at any time, and the texts stop.

Message frequency varies with the contractor’s own leads. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out; the reply reads: “Tailgate Office: you are unsubscribed and will get no more texts. Reply START to resubscribe.” Reply HELP for help; the reply reads: “Tailgate Office: account and preview texts. Help: support@tailgateoffice.com or https://www.tailgateoffice.com/contact/ Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.” No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Privacy policy: https://www.tailgateoffice.com/sms/privacy/. Terms: https://www.tailgateoffice.com/sms/terms/.

The same path, with pictures of both pages and the texts that follow, is on one page: https://www.tailgateoffice.com/sms/example/.

What you may get

  • The code that confirms your number, and one text once it is confirmed (step 4 above).
  • Alerts about your own new leads (a quote request, a website message or a job applicant), with a link to the lead in your account (step 5 above).
  • Previews: a copy of a text your account composed for one of your customers, sent to you alone so you can see it (step 5 above).
  • Never marketing or offers.

How often

Message frequency varies: a code when you ask for one, then texts as your own leads come in and as your account composes texts.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Tailgate Office does not charge you for these texts.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any of our texts to stop them; the reply reads: “Tailgate Office: you are unsubscribed and will get no more texts. Reply START to resubscribe.” Replying STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT does the same. Replying REVOKE or OPTOUT, or with only one of the Spanish words PARAR, CANCELAR, BAJA, DETENER, ALTO or BASTA, also stops them. After that, nothing more is sent to that phone in this program. You can also untick the box or clear the number on your Account page’s Lead alerts card at any time, and the texts stop.

To get the texts again, reply START.

Help

Reply HELP or INFO to any of our texts; the reply reads: “Tailgate Office: account and preview texts. Help: support@tailgateoffice.com or https://www.tailgateoffice.com/contact/ Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone can also email support@tailgateoffice.com for help, or use our contact page, https://www.tailgateoffice.com/contact/.
